[Bug 811604] Re: uvcdynctrl spams uvcdynctrl-udev.log and fills up filesystem

2016-08-01 Thread gary munroe
This problem just happened to me on my Thinkpad x301. I am running Linux Mint 17.3, which is based on Ubuntu 14.4. I have been running successive versions of Linux Mint for years without this happening. I recently, and for the first time, decided to use the built-in camera to video chat. I

2013-03-26 Thread Richard Munroe
Hey everyone. I recently bricked my NP300E5C-A01UB trying to boot into Ubuntu with UEFI enabled. After locating the correct chip on the motherboard, my friend connected his bus pirate to it and we were able to dump the firmware and go through it. I have posted these logs and the dump of the borked

[Bug 737454] Re: xorg high cpu usage with compiz while using top command; goes away when compiz is killed

2011-04-03 Thread Alex Munroe
I suspect I'm having the same problem. I have an 8800 GTS and two 1680x1050 monitors running with TwinView. I upgraded my nvidia driver to 270.29 a few days ago (in an attempt to resolve other Compiz issues, actually). Since then, X will peg a core for a few seconds, once a minute or so.

[Bug 319575] Re: multiload-applet + sshfs breaks suspend

2010-11-28 Thread Alex Munroe
I assume this is the same core problem: if an sshfs mount's remote machine becomes unavailable, the system monitor applet will freeze and remain in uninterruptible sleep forever. -- multiload-applet + sshfs breaks suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/319575 You received this bug notification

[Bug 379183] Re: nautilus Unique-DBus-WARNING

2010-09-14 Thread Alex Munroe
I've had the same problem with sshfs, referring to the remote machine by its winbind name. If I try to browse the mount while the machine is off the network, nautilus freezes, and any attempts to restart it give me the Unique-DBus-WARNING. I tried using Thunar instead, and it too froze as soon
