Applets do not scale well with changing resolution

Bugs,
Just like most people here, my screen resolution is 1280x1024 and when I run
fullscreen application--which is in my case an old Windows game using Wine at
640x480--all launchers/applets are moved to the right.
The strange thing is this problem didn't happen when I was using Hardy!

I am using Intrepid and I was looking for configuration to turn off
PC speaker audible bell but I couldn't find it. After some googling
I found that Sound preference has changed and when I opening
the help I realize that the content is not updated
Change what? The configuration to turn off audible bell? If yes there is none
now with the current version. But according to the help file ther should be in
the System Preferences Sound System Bell tab like this:

BTW, there is a configuration on System Preferences Sound Sounds, look at
'Alerts and Sound Effects'.
In my case 'Alert sound' is grayed out and can't be changed. But I can change
the
'Visual alert' part.
