"Guest Access" should be disabled by default. It is an unexpected
"feature", on an otherwise secure system. Until a GUI option is added

I've found it
GUI or not, I still argue that "Guest Access" should be disabled by

I would argue that, whether there was a control center option or not,
the guest account logon should be off by default.
It only invites trouble. For me, trouble had the face of my children
while I was at work. =)
Please consider defaulting that setting to off.
I do not mind so much the option,
Wacom model ET-0405-U goes down when scrolling up as well.

To summarise: Had similar issues[1] when closing the screen with v10.04.
Now after a fresh install and all updates (as of 4/11/2010), the splash
screen flashes, goes blank, locks up and gets hot. Edited xorg.conf[2],
everything works until I close the screen, then it goes blank, locks up
and gets

I have a Dell C400 running Lubuntu (happened in Ubuntu as well) 10.04
that is exhibiting the same behavior. When I attempted to add the option
ForceEnablePipeA to my xorg.conf file I learned that Xorg now favors
auto-configuration and does not start with a configuration file. Please
advise.

Milan: I almost took the time to open a new bug. Unfortunately, after
27+ years of working with computers, I am starting to have fits of I
just want it to work!
In this case, I had just done a fresh install of 10.04 and found all of
the other quirks on my Dell C400 to have been fixed, but now
I did a fresh install of 10.04 over the weekend and planned to upload
the apport information for you. However, after being broken the last
several version of Ubuntu, the video WORKS!!! In fact, besides a brief
problem with hibernation [1] and it not wanting to wake up from a
suspend [2],
I know this may not be the same problem, but this bug was as close a
match as I could find.
I have 768 MB of physical memory, the installer created a 881 MB swap
partition, everything looks fine in org.freedesktop.upower.policy, it
worked in 9.10 and yet... I do not have the option to hibernate.
Thank you for at least looking at this issue.

Sorry, I should have said I have seen the exact same behavior in Ubuntu
8.04 with all of the latest updates as of today. If anything else is

No Go
I followed Simone Crescenzo's steps and still receive the same An
unrecoverable processor error has been encountered The virutal machine
will reset now., just much earlier in the process. In fact start up
looks like this:

Upgraded from Ubuntu 7.10 to 8.04. I have the same behavior when booting with
Kernal 2.6.24-16 but 2.6.22-14 works great.
