Briefly, me too. Some pdfs print, others fail when using Evince. Printing from OpenOffice and Gimp is fine. Okular, as suggested above did succeed in printing one of the problem pdfs. lpr filename.pdf failed Ubuntu 9.10 both 32 and 64 bit systems. Will look into this further and attach error
