Just want to let you all know that I am no longer experiencing the bug. I
ran through adept, and it didn't show any distribution upgrade options.

I think the key is make sure that adept has downloaded the latest updates.
Then, restart your system. Adept should no longer have the upgrade issue.
One of the latest updates seems to have fixed it.
