My scripts run xdg-open http://localhost:something before starting the
service as a time saver to setup my workspace.
Did you already have the service running when you started it up?
It works fine when the service is already up, but it throws this new
error when it is not. In the past

Still does not work. You were correct about the user not being in the
lxd group.
Same error as before.
And running the same command as root produces the same error.

Sound worked in Ubuntu 11.10. Fresh install with 12.04 Beta 2 fully up
to date as of April 3 2012.
Sound works mostly fine from the speakers; when I plug in the headphone
jack no sound comes out. I don't know if pulseaudio is the cause or it's
a problem with the kernel/alsa.

Regression: Dell: Sound does not work when headphone jack is plugged

Can confirm. Crashes when I plug in my headphones into the audio jack.
(Sound transfers to the headphones as I plug in partially but once the
jack is fully inserted in crashes.) Sound mutes with both the speakers
and the headphones, but returns to the speakers once the jack is
unplugged.

Okay my game works when I run pulseaudio in the terminal. It kills my
sound for all applications.

On further testing I found this workaround.
Goto System-Preferences-Output Tab-Set Connector from Analog Output
to Analog Headphones; has to be set back everytime you want to listen to
output from the speakers.
As far as I can tell Ubuntu just forgets to turn off the speaker output
when it turns

After hibernating Ubuntu stalls on startup and needs to be restarted.
(The little horizontal bar on the screen stalls and disk activity drops
to zero.)
I'm using 8.04 right now and hibernation worked perfectly out of the box
on both 7.04 7.10.
