Additional info. : may I suggest that possibly this is due to not having a full
RAID card but using the on board RAID of my motherboard. PC is an Acer T180.
This bug appears to be consistent with this FakeRAID web-site (below) and
following the instructions I was able to RAID my machine.

I have had this very problem. Removing Flash and re-installing doesn't help.
I have moved .mozilla out of the way from /home/user and then started Firefox
again with out any change in the results.
I DO suspect Flash and NOT Firefox as the cause.
BUT this could be hardware related.

Hello,
My example was at post initial install. Most likely my ATI Radeon 7000 card
which is known for it's problems on all types of O.S. This has been replaced
with a more stable nVidia 4600 and I have had the same problem at install
but no problems since.

After upgrade I changed xorg.conf monitor resolution 28-81 and 43-120 saved and
rebooted.
Post reboot and login I changed resolution to 1024 X 768 and 75Hz refresh. This
worked.
A crash report Icon appeared in the tool bar.
