After 10.10 ubuntu upgrade i am getting no sound, i am using same option:
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack
But this time still no sound, same hardware as previously reported,
nothing has been changed, only upgrade to 10.10.
I did get this on dmesg when i did alsa force-reload:
[ 835.245877] h
I finally founded a fix to no-sound problem, model is needed to set to
3stack.
I modified /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and added line:
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack
then sudo alsa force-reload and after that i can get sound.
This bug can be closed.

I have this IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad T60, it has ATI X1400 display adapter.
I cant boot using Gutsy (7.10) live-cd as graphical desktop does not

I upgraded to Gutsy Gibbon (RC-version) and still same problem, but, fix
is same as with Feisty Fawn, eg.
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist :
blacklist i82875p_edac
blacklist edac_mc
After that AGP-modules, and ATI drivers, etc. loads ok and direct
rendering ok.

using win xp as client and i am reading files from samba shares and
speed is about 1 Mbit/sec.

I can also confirm that edac -modules seems to prohibit AGP module to work
under Intel 975p chipset & with ATI (AMD) Radeon 9500 (RV200 chipset)
Blacklisting i82875p_edac and edac_mc modules fixes this atm, i got current
Feisty and current kernel.
