Not sure what my Bios is (my NC10 is 2 months old), but the screen brightness was working in Jaunty and NOT in Karmic. Have just found this page and followed the info on the link https://launchpad.net/~voria/+archive/ppa and the brightness control is now working again! many thanks -- Can not

I was running 9.04 totally fine, and 8.10 before, no issues like this. Did a complete fresh install of Karmic and this error is happening all the time. I have an AMD64bit processor and a MSi board with built in ATI graphics. I'm using the suggested proprietary driver too. -- EDAC amd64:
