but it requires downgrading xorg to 1.16.2.

Marcobra sent me an email that asked what I meant by user profile. I am
specifically talking about the user accounts that one sets up for other
people to use on the same computer. i.e. Profile Alpha has

selection of photos all sized 4000 x 3000 px (filesize 5M - typical example
attached). I used GIMP to scale the size.

Hi Alex,
Today a new FF update came out, and I can confirm the problem lies with
the 'Ubuntu Firefox Modifications' extension.
I have taken screenshots of the process I took to confirm this.

To further clarify, now I am running the latest FF if I go:
Tools-Addons and 'disable' the 'Ubuntu Firefox Modifications' addon
Restart FF
then:
Tools-Addons and 'enable' the 'Ubuntu Firefox Modifications' addon again
Restart FF
It does NOT add 'ask.com' to my Search Engine List

what other functionality it offers.
Re: moving the profile, I really don't want to do that cause I have had
major disasters with profiles before in FF and would be much happier

Hi, I had the same problem in Ubuntu 8.04 the GUI for GFTP 2.0.18
Says Loading directory listing xx but doesn't do anything.
I managed to solve it by changing the folder permissions for the target
directory.
At the terminal sudo chmod 777 -R /path/to/target/ftp/folder.
