[Bug 84229] Re: [feisty] [amd64] a lot of programs get status D+

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 78255 *** The kernel is oopsing in the rtl8180 driver. Marking as a duplicate of #78255 [feisty] rtl8180 oops Of possible interest is the driver is recognising the hardware differently between the kernel versions rtl8187: This seems a legacy 1st version

Can you provide the dmesg for the working 2.6.17-10 kernel? There is some indication the driver is recognising the hardware differently between kernel versions. Do not know yet, however, if this is significant. -- [feisty] rtl8180 oops https://launchpad.net/bugs/78255 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing

Elektranox, I've seen your dmesg logs from the duplicate bug entry. I was hoping to get some dmesgs from the other people who reported this bug. If their demsgs have the same differences as your dmesgs, then it may be significant. -- [feisty] rtl8180 oops https://launchpad.net/bugs/78255 --

[Bug 76489] Re: network device, module r8169, fails after some minutes

2007-02-09 Thread Phillip Lougher
Both lspci reports list the chipset as RTL8111/8168B. This is a relatively new chipset, and support for it was only added in 2.6.19. The temporary solution appears to be to disable TSO by default for RTL111/8168B in the driver. -- network device, module r8169, fails after some minutes

Can you provide the dmesg output and the output of lspci -nv for both the working 2.6.19-7 kernel and the 2.6.20-6 kernel. ** Changed in: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed = Needs Info -- [feisty] [amd64] a lot of programs get status D+ https://launchpad.net/bugs/84229
