Well I have been offered a Pentium 4 motherboard in exchange of the Celeron
motherboard, so I upgraded :)
Thanks anyway :)

Hello there and thanks for looking into this
Actually I have found an efficient solution to this problem: I changed the
hardware :)
After replacing the Celeron motherboard with a Pentium 4 motherboard, no more
problems :)
Thank you,

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.22-14-generic
Hi there,
I just did a fresh install of Ubuntu 7.10 on some machine. It takes an
awful long time to boot, and it is probably related to some ATA/IDE
problem in the kernel.
Finally fixed the problem.
After some discussion with people from #ubuntu-devel, it appears the
solution is to edit /etc/ppp/peers/kppp-options and replace #noauth with
noauth. That's what I just did and indeed this solves the problem of ppp
crashing.
But, hey, this bug is in Ubuntu 6.06 LTS
Hello,
I can confirm this bug still happens on Ubuntu 6.06 LTS, even with
latest updates.

Well it's rather bugs in Ubuntu 6.06 LTS are low on the priority
list...
It's a pain, though. Installed 6.06 LTS on my neighbour's computer
thinking I won't have to upgrade it every six months. Now it appears
the only way to get rid of this bug is to install Feisty...

Thank you but...
I need it to be fixed in Ubuntu 6.06 LTS.
Not in Ubuntu 6.10 or Feisty

Hi there and thanks for looking into my bug report.
So I just need to create a file named forcefsck on the root filesystem, and
it'll force fsck at boot ? That's cool :)
Thank you,

Hi again,
In order to be 100% sure the crash is caused by kvpnc, I just did a
fresh install of Ubuntu 6.0.6.1 from the iso image. Then I did apt-get
update apt-get upgrade to make sure I had the latest release of
kvpnc.
However, it is the same version of kvpnc: 0.8.2.1-0ubuntu3
Alas, when I

I have a problem with kvpnc 0.8.2.1-0ubuntu3 on Ubuntu 6.06 LTS
I'm installing it with:
sudo apt-get install kvpnc vpnc
I start kvpnc as root (alt+F2 and kdesu kvpnc)
I choose Profile import Cisco .pcf file
I select the file and click OK

Hello,
The -F option of the /sbin/shutdown command is useful: it allows you to
force the operating system to check all partitions (fsck) at the next
reboot.
In Ubuntu 6.10, this option has disappeared !
The command shutdown -rF now reboots the

Hello.
Package phpsysinfo works properly, but the Distro Name field reports
Debian testing/unstable and shows a Debian logo.
It should report Ubuntu 6.10 with a Ubuntu logo.
