As a programmer yourself, it can't be such a big deal for you to submit
a patch that does exactly this. This would certainly be a

If doing some one-off housekeeping is urgent for you, a fairly simple

Since this bug was marked as fixed some seven or eight years ago, there

necessary permissions please reopen this issue?
One of the patches introduced as a result of this bug (namely, the one
that forces setting of the browser.preferences.instantApply to "false")
appears to have broken at least one Thunderbird extension, CardBook. I

Is this problem still reproducible in the latest version of KMail?
There haven't been any comments on this bug in over a year; I'm
wondering if that's because the problem has been fixed or because it has
driven most of the user base away. I'd love to return to using KMail
but can't as long as
Sergey, I've been using Oleg's Russian "phonetic_dvorak" layout for
years. I can attest that it's very useful.
However, I think this particular issue can be closed, as the layout
seems to have made it into the official X.Org distribution this year:
I too can no longer reproduce this problem (using KTorrent 4.3.1 on KDE

the display settings are (eventually) correctly applied on login.
However, the process is a bit annoying in that immediately after logging
