I've the exact problem in Evolution 2.26.1 (Ubuntu 9.4). I see the same

It works after installing gnome-vfs-obexftp, but it only pairs obexftp
service devices. Audio / Input devices are displayed in the list but
when trying to pair it gives an error.

but not auto mount it for some reason; manual mounting works.

I'm using Feisty 7.04 Beta on Compaq NX 6120 Note Book, the card reader
wouldn't work... When I was using Ubuntu 6.10, I found a fix in the
Ubuntu Forums that would make it work, but even that fix wouldn't work
in Feisty 7.04 Beta...
