I have a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6020, 9.10 installs ok basic graphic,
NVIDIA drivers install fine. I straight 10.4 install gets me the black
screen (no back light either) before the grub menu comes up. I have the
i5 with 310M graphics, will help with anything i can, I would love to
run 10.4 and

I'm not sharing any files from the cdrom drive. It only dies on
inserting a blank disc, rather than a disc with data on it.
I was not hashing, uploading or downloading when I tried it yesterday.
No hubs were connected either.
Are you able to reproduce the crash on your system?

I've tried this twice and got the same result.
Samba shares on the ubuntu desktop are set up and others can access them
fine. -- Installing wine makes the shares unaccessible and deleting wine
returns things to normal.
Not sure what this could be, or how to check deeper.

Hi, Okay I installed the version from the repository now. I did find a
crash report in /var/crash which I submitted using the auto facility.
The bug report is

Sorry for the late reply. Just wondering do I just need to enable apport
and then replicate the crash (so it picks up the crash on its own and
reports it?)? Or do I need to change some other config?
