I'm sorry but I've moved since I posted that bug, and my linux
computer is on a moving truck--soon to be going into storage while I

Oh, I just fixed the problem by studying my own backtrace! I installed
the gtkhtml3.8 editing library via the synaptic package manager, and
everything now works fine.
