I haven't noticed this occuring since I upgraded to 13.10, but I haven't
used Ubuntu a lot on this laptop since then so I can't say 100% sure
that it has been resolved.

I'm not sure where the bug was exactly, but it was still a usable OS,
although I think it was a valid bug in terms of there was visual
distortion stemming from the ATI graphics. I guess it's your call.

So I'm not sure what the problem is but I'm using a old kernel image and
the system is running fine. Since I upgraded to 8.04 I've had random
