In the browse network (network:///) instead of the icons
First, is nautilus/gnome/whatever the file manager/desktop
manager/desktopd of the month over there still making .desktop files
mode 0644 if they're coming from e.g. online sources? I seem to recall
that KDE was requiring this as well, but I won't swear to it.
Second, I'm inclined to go with

Any chance of pulling the experimental branch and working up a patch for
it? The 1.5.x is pretty much in a -stable maintenance mode, but this is
fair game for the upcoming 1.6.x series...
