On trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 (32 bit), I encountered a very similar

I had a similar problem installing 64-bit Ubuntu 11.10 onto my lenovo
B570 laptop - at the end of the install, the reboot failed with GRUB's
Error 13. Curiously, installing 32-bit Ubuntu 11.10 worked OK - which is
my current work-round.

I have just encountered this problem on running the Ubuntu 11.10 live CD,
whilst my printer was connected.
Now this was on running the live CD with all defaults, which selected the US
keyboard (I have a UK keyboard). However

This was after upgrading to Ubuntu 9.04; with 8.10 status worked OK.
