(Lucid) When no home directories are present because of NFS problems it
automatically logs out for me, giving no message.
It might be a decent amount of work but it would be really nice if in
case of no home directory Gnome would make a temporary home directory in
/tmp, set home to $HOME variable
I like Mirror but if we are changing it Flip Horizontally is better then

I would disagree, outside of mac, convention is last window closes -quit.
minimize to tray is a special type of minimizing/iconizing.(perhaps we should
instead an extra shortcut for that for a bunch of applications).

Ctrl+W should close window, not necessarily quit application
I would recommend not just voting but voting plus reviews( amazon.com style),
possibly using launchpad to store the reviews. Plus make it easy to submit
reviews(to be moderator approved) through the software store.
