Confirmed that with v4l2loopback-dkms 0.12.3-1ubuntu0.1, configured
devices are not correctly advertised. This breaks Zoom, Cheese, etc.
Compiling v4l2loopback from upstream source works correctly.

Blacklisting tpm_tis allows the machine to enter S3 about 75% of the
time, but now we're just back to the original problem. It still

original report was just lucky that their laptop successfully suspended
the first time after a boot. It looks more like it happens at random.

this bug because in aggregate, these issues create a condition most
people readily identify as uselessness. This is a conservative
description. For many users, the unstoppable bongos would better be
described as harmful.

I can also confirm the same problem. Edgy always sends jobs as a4,
regardless of user settings or print driver for several different models
of network printer, using both IPP and LPD.
The same solution ('cat letter /etc/papersize') fixes the problem.
I would upgrade this bug to critical.
The correct way of fixing this problem would be to install a dummy
package that provides mail-transport-agent.
Or, instead of a dummy package, install the nullmailer package. It's
tiny, and you can have it send your system mail to a gmail account
instead of dropping your messages on the floor.
