booted into the system, my mouse and 3d drivers were not working. I
eventially figured out that no kernel modules were being loaded at all
(lsmod showed absolutely nothing). Looking further, I realized that

For what it's worth, you can add synclient CircScrollTrigger=3 to your
startup programs, changing the number as appropriate.

I set GRUB_SAVEDEFAULT=true in /etc/default/grub, and it works. However,
apparently the recovery mode boot entries *also* save themselves as
default. So if you reboot into recovery mode, then fix something, and
then reboot again, you'll be back in
This also happens using the beta of the maverick light-themes, and
causes skype to use the ugly default GTK theme. Maybe the Skype binary
is linked against an old version of Qt whose GTK mode is unable to
handle the new Murrine options?
