Trying to do-release-upgrade of 12.04 LTS to next version.
This happened while handling the crash that happened during upgrade:

Does this mean that I will not be able to upgrade my server beyond 12.04
LTS to a newer (official release) or that this is a bug that can be
addressed and fixed?

I have this bug too.
Running nvidia-185 on 64 bit Ubuntu 9.10
FOund the ECC option in the BIOS and turned it on but the bug still emerges.
Have no idea about what RAM is inside my machine.
