Ubuntu Karmic installed from the Ubuntu Alpha4 CD. Updated to the latest
version. Added Xubuntu packages. While adding openjdk packages, ca-
certificates-java (20090629) fails to install.

Installed Ubuntu from Karmic Alpha 4. Updated to the latest packages.
Could not log into gnome.
Everytime the gdm user selector came up after a few seconds.
Started an xterm session.
Installed xubuntu-desktop.
Can log into the Xfce session.

Binary package hint: lxde-common
Ubuntu Karmic Alpha4 CD to latest updates over the network.
Installed lxde. Decided to remove it. Synaptic gives error message and
the package is still installed.
