I can confirm that patching evdns.c in 2.0.16-stable-1 source resolves
the issue. I have tested it for days without any crash. Please consider
updating the package with that patch.

I believe that this is an important security bug.
Impact: address space randomization is unusable
Currently I'm testing kernel compiled with the attached patch that resolves the
issue.
Please evaluate it for an upgrade.

The only woarkaroud that works for hardy is to remove /lib/tls directory, but
for me remains the warning in guest domains.
This is an important bug that affects an LTS distribution, so need urgently a
fix. Debian seems to be fixed in newer version of glibc.

I've been used the proposed 2.6.24-23.46 kernel in a 4 nodes cluster for a
period of about 40 days so I can confirm that the newer kernel resolves the
oops.

How to reproduce the problem:
PREREQUISITE:
working ldap server with samba schema
- install luma and python-smbpasswd
- configure luma to connect to your ldap
- open an entry object that have objectClass=sambaSamAccount
- generate sambaLMPassword and sambaNTPassword selecting properly encryption

When calculates MD4 hashes for samba passwords Luma returnes always lmhash
instead of nthash, The attached patch resolves the problem.
