I'm having the same problem, however, I don't have any extensions
enabled. The only item listed under extensions is Ubuntu Firefox
Modifications 0.6 and when I disable it, I still am encountering the
problem.
The issue is that I can't get to any other window unless I quit

I got it to work by installing the old Nvidia driver from the restricted
drivers (ver. 96), then rebooting.
After rebooting I installed the newer Nvidia (180.11) driver and it worked.
It's not really a solution, but more of a workaround...

I can confirm that this is still an issue. To summarize that bug as I
believe he states it is simply that the open file dialog need to
support URLs (if the application supports gnome-vfs) or in other words
you are unable to add a url to a playlist using any of the programs
dialogs.

The fix works I think because with the Launcher/Taskmanager at the right
end it initiates its own redraws. If you are in the awn-manager and try
reordering any of the applets, the artifacts come right back regardless
of where they are. It seems like anytime an applet is not the cause of
its own

smbclient.

I am just chiming in that I have a Dell Studio Slim 540s with the same
issue. I have installed ALSA 1.0.18rc3 and have lockups when attempting
to unmute the IEC958 device. I was able to successfully unmute the
device in 1.0.17, however it had no audible effect.

I think I've fixed this. It appears the the field of the utmp structure
that holds the X display changed between feisty and gutsy, so timeoutd
has basically been completely broken for managing timeouts on local X
sessions for gutsy and hardy.

I think i have the same problem because my xorg processor usage goes way

this is still a bug in intrepid using the nv driver it just shows a black
screen after resuming from suspend, but if I use the nvidia driver it works
fine.

Using the slider works perfectly.

after that it was working better. now it takes 4 presses instead of 2 (although
the screen actually has 8 brightness levels)

um... it dosn't completely crash anymore, but the part of the program that is

hey I test tested this out with ubuntu intrepid ibex 8.10 alpha2 and
copying folders with samba works.
also why is bug marked as incomplete.
