I have upgraded to Lucid and tested Evolution with my IMAP accounts.
Everything is working fine and it appears that the problem has been
fixed. Thanks for your work on these fine products (Evolution and
Ubuntu).

This bug is definitely a regression from Karmic, which works fine. The
bug also appears to be a remanifestation of 268957. The fix should be

I have the same problem in 9.10 Karmic. My /etc/network/if-pre-up.d
/wireless-tools is already patched. But it does not seem to solve the
problem. Removing wireless-tools is not an option since gnome desktop
depends on it.

then fails with "Connection reset". Worked in Jaunty. Broken in Karmic.
