@Rocko: the workaround you suggest probably works with the English version, but on my computer (I run Ubuntu in Italian), even if I change the name of the command from Home folder to Nautilus (or whatever name), I still get Cartella home (Home folder) in the global menu. I guess this happens

I eventually managed to install the system. Mine was a hardware problem, there were bad sectors on a part of the HD, and the installation probably failed to write on the disk. I re-partitioned the hard disk not allocating the first two Gb's and everything ran smoothly. I guess this bug can be
