import, export and everything else work in 14.04.
Please move it as soon as possible to the universe repository. I need it on our
audio workstations :-)

I have testet it by not enabling the -proposed repository rather then
downloading and installing the packages by hand:
dpkg -i audacity_2.0.5-1ubuntu3.2_amd64.deb
dpkg -i audacity-data_2.0.5-1ubuntu3.2_all.deb
