I have been experiencing this error quite frequently. I am using 12.04
beta (precise) as my main operating system. I have experienced this bug
multiple times and finally decided to report it. At the time, I was
using the terminal to update and upgrade this system. The bug became

Got this crash after mounting Galaxy Nexus and trying to access it in
Nautilus. I didn't install any scripts to make it mount, so I'm guessing
that 12.04 has native MTP support but it's just buggy? My GNex was never
even able to mount in Oneiric.

Here is the debdiff from the latest karmic sources. The only
part that looked a little odd to me was the config.log file that
was generated and included in the debdiff. I'm not sure if that
should be included or not. Let me know if this debdiff will

I was able to use your steps except substitute these for #4.
4. Hit ^W and choose "Find Next"
It should seg fault but all the colors of the app will still be covering the
terminal. Let me know if that works.
