The newer Broadcom boards are missing from the list of network drivers that get
their firmware
placed in initramfs. Therefore they won't work because these devices load
firmware during probe.

This is a new problem after upgrade of Hardy system to Intrepid.
When I switch systems that are connected by Belkin Flip USB KVM, the mouse
stops working.
The keyboard works fine, and the trackpad on the laptop still works.

I figured out the problem is that I disabled the power manager under services.
The power manager doesn't do anything useful on a desktop system, but the
shutdown
dialog talks to the power manager to determine if suspend/resume work.
Therefore the problem is logout is trying to talk to the

My ssh keys have no password, but yet on Hardy, the Gnome key ring manager
is always asking me to unlock them!
The unlock dialog can't handle an empty blank password,
and checking the always unlock when I login has no effect either.
