Public bug reported:
Since Ubuntu 6.06 the blue mail led in the front of the Asus A6Va could be
switched on by a simple command :
echo 1 /proc/acpi/asus/mled
This file disappear in Hardy (as well as the asus directory).
Can you bring back this feature ?
Thanks

Binary package hint: human-icon-theme
On Ubuntu Hardy (Gnome) The icon on the desktop showing a computer
(poste de travail in french, which is a link to nautilus

It's annoying because all other icons are resizable... And I used to
have only 2
I find (thanks to Xenom on ubuntu-fr) that you can do the same thing as I want
with the file :
/sys/class/leds/asus\:mail/brightness
but to do this you have to be root... which is annoying to use as a
simple user...
any solution/fix ?
Thanks

Binary package hint: gnome-games
I'm used to play mahjong with true tiles, and when I see that there is a
mahjong solitaire in gnome, I was very happy !
But I try the differents modes and in Ziggurat mode I see something very
strange : there where 6 tiles of red dragon !!

Bugs,
In fact I don't know if it was a bug or a rules problem.
In mahjongg game there is only 4 tiles of each. And I find a game with 6
tiles... so it thought that there was a problem... but it's isn't very
important.
I'll check bugzilla to see if I could submit my problem.
Thanks

I finally find a way to solve this problem !
I now use the kernel -i386 instead of the -generic ! And CPU scaling
works now both on AC and battery.
If devel can find what was wrong with the generic kernel...

I didn't know that the commands you make with sudo and those under sudo

So I done that and... no ameliorations... it's always the same...

Yes ! We're on the way of a solution (maybe)
I didn't try to switch to battery. So when I'm on battery the Ondemand
and Conservative auto scaling works well !!
Maybe it's a matter of laptop-mode ? Is it enabled by default ?

[feisty] CPU scaling ondemand stay at 100%
When I run those commands the behavior seems the same but now the applet
don't show any changes (if the CPU is at 100% or at 46%, the icon don't
change). I only see the changes with the command : cat /proc/cpuinfo |
grep cpu MHz
So it don't solve my problem...

Public bug reported:
Feisty beta fresh install (update from a fresh edgy install yesterday)
I've added the applet CPU frequency scaling and reconfigured it to allow
users to scale CPU frequency (sudo dpkg-reconfigure gnome-applets).
When I'm in Powersave mode, the CPU stay at 46%, which is
$lsmod | grep speedstep_centrino
speedstep_centrino 9920 0
freq_table 5792 3
speedstep_centrino,cpufreq_stats,cpufreq_ondemand
$ lsmod | grep acpi_freq
gives no answer
So the answer is speedstep_centrino
Do you have a solution ?
