I've encountered the same problem as described above on Ubuntu 18.04. In my case, the dual-boot is Ubuntu and Windows 10 and 2 NTFS partitions for Windows. Ubuntu is also installed in a different partition (as above). The steps to reproduce and the workaround are exactly the same and the issue

I can confirm this with my GT 520 card, but when I deactivate the driver, reboot, activate again, and reboot again, everything seems to work fine again, even though Additional Drivers reports that driver is activated but currently not in use. Hopefully this will last. -- You received this bug
