download these proprietary drivers, some people might not want these installed.
Also it is not clear to me why these need to be installed in the live cd in the
first place, shouldn't they only be needed on the target?

dc7800p) and have always seen the same odd behaviour where the pc must first be
put into hibernate before it will be able to resume from suspend to RAM. I have
seen this behaviour in both Ubuntu and Arch linux

Given the amount of time that elapsed, I also see that 3.18-rc2 is out.
I don't want to conflate issues, but, I did try to load rc2 as well and
can't do any testing, as I'm unable to boot the kernel. It seems that
Problem still exists in 3.18-rc1. Seems to be more agressive - I got a
bunch of the sync error messages immediately after turning on the
driver; they would have kept going if I didn't re-disable it (psmouse
proto=exps):

network works fine in the current utopic kernel -22.29

seems to work alright.

I'm suspecting commit 5715fc764f7753d464dbe094b5ef9cffa6e479a4 is behind the
issue, the kernel now thinks I have a forcepad which I don't
the commit has been backported to trusty and I can confirm it affects 3.13.8
but not 3.13.7

The problem with resetafter is that it causes the CPU to thrash given
how often the driver gets out of sync. I tried doing that on my system,
and it made it completely unusable (could barely type enough characters
to update modprobe and regenerate initram. So far I've been living with
loading the
