I will like to share few comments about this sigmatel audio controller
what i feel.
i haven't seen this MIC working in the sigmatel audio controller in any of the
linux distros(RHEL, SLED, Debian 4.0..)
i personally feel that we need to do some extra settings or tuning to get the
MIC work.

i can't find this specific line(options snd-hda-intel) in this alsa-base
of my system.
please help where to add these options

Microphone not working with STAC9227 controller
Modem got worked but after sometime's the KPPP application throws an
error saying pppd died unexpectedly. i have attached pictures of the
modem working and log file which has been created for error by KPPP. Can
you suggest this problem with kppp or configuration issue ?

Edited the below lines to /etc/default/sl-modem-daemon
SLMODEMD_DEVICE=hw:0,6
SLMODEMD_COUNTRY=INDIA
Configured the modem using the gnome-ppp application; but when i attempt
to detect the modem it shows that no modem was found. a screen shot is
attached.
Also, tried with the KPPP application;
checked the slmodemd and also with the linux-backports-modules

A. The following workaround is working
1. Open a terminal
2. Enter
$ LANG=en_US.UTF-8 audacity
B. Also, as mentioned in the link
