Running Intrepid alpha HP/Compaq 6715s with 2.6.27 now boots without extra kernel parameters. But the system is painfully slow - starting and logging in takes almost 15 minutes in total and the system is practically unusable after that. So I have to use 2.6.24 with nohz=off option instead. I have
