Public bug reported: After upgrading to kernel 2.6.24.17, screen never wakes after suspend. Everything else fires up, just not the screen. I didn't check hibernate but would venture a guess it will do the same thing. The problem was resolved by going back to kernel 2.6.24-16. Looking at the bugs

Update: I was able to the the Network GUI to work. It did write the the file with the extra line auto eth0 at the end (not something I've seen in online examples). That said, ifup and ifdown still don't work and Configure from the Network Tools interface still does not see the interface. I may
