I have no idea what happened, but now it is working again... did a few
tinkering in the actual Volume Control, but nothing major, and now VLC
is working as it should. Hopefully this becomes a non issue.

Upgraded to the Fixed Kernel, and all seems to be running fine, except
one key issue - no audio with VLC, running everything running through
PulseAudio in System>Preferences>Sound I get a Test tone, but change the
audio to alsa, esd, and oss and I get no feed back with a Test Tone.
VLC is dependent
Found the issue - the 'fn' key on my MB110LL/A Apple Keyboard which is
used (by default in OSX, but not in Windows or Ubuntu) in conjunction
with the optional functions of the F1-F4 as well as F7-F12 has to be
held down at the same time while keying in the "Alt+F2" to act as a
proper "Alt+F2" comma
1. Keyboard brand: Apple Keyboard Model: MB110LL/A (wired usb)
Within Ubuntu it is set to Generic 105-key, setting to Apple results in the
same issue - kernel 2.6.24.11 this was not an issue keyshortcut worked properly
under Generic 105-key.
I included the requested logs in the attached zip arch
Well it doesn't for me, works fine in 2.6.24.11 but not in 2.6.24.12.
Looking at System> Preferences>Keyboard Shortcuts Alt+F2 when I try to
manually configure it with the same key sequence converts to Alt+0xd4.
Could be an issue with the my model of keyboard which is "New Apple
Keyboard", but this
Public bug reported:
In addition to the sound issue that seems to be affected kernel
2.6.24.12 there seems to also be an issue with the Run Application
Alt-F2 no longer functioning. Booting to previous kernel 2.6.24.11,
there is no issue with using the command.
