Note that nvidia-current was just upgraded to 295.53... that might effect stability for some people. I've been running with 295.49 for several days now on both my systems and saw a marked improvement in stability - no load spikes, occasional Firefox freezing but nothing serious. I suspect there

This is obviously at least 2 or 3 different problems. My problems seem to have cleared up after upgrading to NVIDIA's 295.49 drivers. My SysRq key continued to work even under massive lockup. Most of us experienced common symptoms: A near complete system freeze with mouse continuing to work

This is hitting both my home server and my work desktop hard. I can freeze my 64 bit 12.04 desktop by opening a few windows (firefox, thunderbird, rhythmbox) and holding down alt-tab for a few seconds. My home server is freezing about every 24-48 hours and my software RAID isn't very happy about

The freezing is so bad I'm often unable to switch to a terminal with Ctrl-Alt-F1, and when I can't I can't get past the password prompt. The whole thing just seizes up. I could try having a terminal open from another machine and watch the behaviour of top. -- You received this bug notification

Switching to nvidia drivers 295.49 and fixing a conflict in CompizConfig where both the Unity Application switcher and Application Switcher were activated simultaneously seems to have resolved the issue on my work computer. Crossing fingers that I can fix things when I get home... -- You
