Yeap, after upgrading gtk3-engines-oxygen, emacs24 starts ok here too.

The update of gtk2-engines-oxygen has no effect on emacs24, as it's
compiled against GTK3. I've just checked, and indeed installing it
doesn't make the problem go away, at least for me.
