It is supposed to change from transparent to opaque when that option is
selected. See the first image I posted.
When "Panel Opacity for Maximized Windows Toggle" is selected and
"Panel Opacity" is zero, the window, upon being maximized, should change
the panel from transparent to opaque.
I see people saying that this is fixed in Unity 7?
I am using Unity 7.2.4 in trusty and it's definitely not fixed.
In fact, it has been a problem for such a long time that I'm perfectly
confident it will never be fixed.

are rare and I assume this one has been pushed through at the request of
Valve. Anyway, thanks for the notification. Can we expect to have

This seems like an anti-feature.
In my personal case, no message received through Thunderbird lacks
importance. Since I hide the launcher by default, many mails go
unnoticed for a time and I find myself randomly mousing over the
launcher to check mails.
If anyone would be so kind as to _hint_
I can't at the moment, I'm continually killing off the process to ensure
my cores are free for my use.

My laptop suspends after an unknown period of time regardless of the
settings I choose in Power Settings.
Currently, it is set to suspend only when on battery power (it is on AC
always at home), but still suspends after time. Also, the

upgrade this specific production level machine with concerns unforeseen
