Well I still have the problem of needing to hold the Super key for at
least (about) 1 second, to prevent the dash flashing quickly and
disappearing.
If that is the desired behaviour then I would agree we should close the
report.

Actually that's wrong - I needed to do a sudo apt-get dist-upgrade,
and after doing that the problem is almost solved! (by the way, how
can I find out and report what version of unity I'm running now?)
Super + A (or Super + F) does actually work now, but I have to make sure
I hold the Super key
I'm using Unity 2D.
As for the version, dkpg -l gives:

I made the suggested changes via gconf-editor, but there was no observed
change in behaviour.
The clarify: when the system starts I am asked for the keyring password.
While the system waits, my wireless connection connects successfully.
When I then provide my password, empathy does not connect,
Internet connection is via wireless network.

Yes, the accounts are listed as I would expect - it's just that they are
reported as being Offline - Status is set to offline, as I mentioned.

selecting Set as default? Does this address your issue?

I upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04 and had this problem (There was an error
creating the child process for this terminal when starting terminal in
GNOME). Fix 1 solved this for me (`sudo mv
/etc/rcS.d/S03mountdevsubfs.sh /etc/rcS.d/S11mountdevsubfs.sh`).
