I've an oops. Everytime. I thought that maybe some of today's updates
solved it, but no. I've just restarted again after an oops.

Something is wrong with the alsa drivers again (after recent updates).
It's possible that this report doesn't belong here, as it's related to
the module developed outside of the kernel (new driver for em28xx based
tuners) but... with previous version of Hardy kernel

I can confirm it. Previously (-10, -11) the same modules were installed
both by the linux-image and linux-ubuntu-modules packages:
dpkg -L linux-image-2.6.24-11-generic |grep snd-hda
Jerone. Thanks for your hints. I've updated my bios to this version
using Lenovo Care system update tools. Unfortunately I still cannot
adjust LCD brightness on R61i.

@Yann: I'm still using your package taken from revu. It builds fine
using m-a, no kernel sources needed. The one which was recently
backported (0.8.0-9) I'm unable to build. I've lost my patience...
The only annoying thing about your package is that I had to mark it on
hold, otherwise autoupdate

I managed to solve it somehow.
As I found out later, it was necessary to change System - Preferences

I've also disabled screensaver (I don't like screensavers,
Out of curiousity, can anybody comment on what's going on with this
