Public bug reported: System will freeze at random time intervals, sometimes 5 minutes since the computer was turned on, sometimes 3 hours since it was turned on, sometimes while idle, and sometimes, while in the middle of work. When the system does freeze, mouse won't move, can't use any keys on the keyboard, etc,. Only doing a hard reset gets the system back to an operational state.
Upon returning to the desktop I get the following "Sorry, Ubuntu has experienced an internal error:" xdg-xubuntu-templates (part of the xubuntu-default-settings package) crashed with UnicodeDecodeError in decode(): 'utf-8' codec can't decode byte 0xf1 in position 0: invalid continuation byte. ---------------------------------- ---------------------------------- Release: Ubuntu 17.04 Version: xubuntu-default-settings: Installed: 17.04.0 Let me know if you need any other logs/info.
