+1 Running Ubuntu 13.04 here and experiencing the same issue. gvfs can connect flawlessly to shares supporting NTLMv2 but cannot connect to shares supporting NTLM only The same behavior is observed in Win7 and OSX 10.7 but there are settings that can be modified to add back support for NTLM
