If I do attempt to install from the proposed repository (following [this
guide](https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed)) - Is it simple
enough to revert? Will I be able to keep `virtualbox-ext-pack
5.0.24-0ubuntu1.16.04.2` and disable the proposed repo?

This is effecting me as well. I'm a bit afraid of modifying
/etc/default/grub for fear some future update will rely on that file
being in a particular state. I'm a bit surprised to see this hasn't
been resolved yet, especially if the context and / or resolution may
have been distilled in
Has anyone has tested http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ on a
Gazelle after Christopher M. Penalver's comment ( #6 ) ?
