Please try the work around by derPeter for a raid device. I am pretty
sure you will get better results.

Is everyone using ext3 or ext4 partitions?
Raid or no raid?
I didn't see the same issues with an ext3 partition but I am not for
sure.

I am doing a heavy io load right now , burning an iso image to the harddisk. It
still gets a 50%-60% usage , but it doesn't block. I can type and use the the

Bad performance and slow response time with heavy I/O on encrypted volumes
This bug seems to be have been hanging for some time. There are few dups
out there of it.
I think the priority of the this bug should be put higher, encryption on
enterprise machines is almost a must for most companies.

I can test i386 and amd64 but I don't see a version for samba-3.2.3.
Debian I think is moving to the next version of samba , this might get
fixed that way?

I have setup full disk encryption a while ago. If I remember right I
only have one logical volume for encryption and a boot partition . Here
try using this guide http://learninginlinux.wordpress.com/2008/04/23

Mount root partition before swap
I have attached the patch from the samba
bug(https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5904) it fixed the problem on
my ibex x64 box but I think the upstream bug has the wrong component listed, I
think it should be winbind as the component. After building I am pretty sure
you just need to
Also I think this bug should have a higher importance, this really hurts
if people are trying to migrate from windows and want to access windows
shares, doing so causes crashes all over the place.

I also have libwbclient0 and winbind 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3.
I reproduced the problem by editing the /etc/nsswitch.conf file.
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
sudo /etc/init.d/winbind restart
killall firefox
Point firefox to www.msnbc.com, almost always dies on the first page.

Update either the files have some type of corruption or there is
something broken in python itself. In windows it acts up. Close this one
it isn't related to ubuntu but higher in python itself.
