A lot of people have tis same problem, but FF doesnot always remain
operable after it greys out. the whole system usually locks up for me.
I found a fix and what I think is the culprit, and it is not compiz
because I don't use it. I uninstalled it. Here is my post in a thread
about this issue...
I have the same problem with FF 2.0.6, 2.0.9, 2.0.10 and Swiftox of the
same revisions. The Firefox revisions were either installed or updated
via synaptic. Swiftfox comes from their own repo which I enabled in
synaptic. I do not have compiz or the google bar. The common denominator
seems to be
