/boot/config-2.6.31-14-server indicates that AUFS was compiled as a
module, but the actual .ko file is missing.

tries to create a file in the user's home directory.
On systems where the home directories are NOT accessible by root (i.e.
nfs-mounted with root-squashing or kerberos) that fails, and the
annoying legales

When using unionfs=unionfs and nfsboot, the "ro" option for the unionfs
mountpoint is replaced by "nfsro".
This option has been removed more than two years ago. Instead, the
default "ro" should be used.

Why does there have to be a conflict anyway? If the kernel in the
virtual flavor was named vmlinuz-2.6.x-y-virtual, the packages could
coexist.
