@max - not necessarily true. the abilty to drag a window past the
top/bottom of the desktop is configurable. My configuration (Gnome
default) does not allow it, nor do I want it to. thanks.
I would like to see this ticket escalated, or perhaps a workaround.

Still not working after following all procedures here. Trying boot.disk
scenario from 477169 as a completely different file is displayed when
cat /boot/grub/grub.cfg is run in grub prompt.

After 9.10 grub update can not boot into Wubi install
While preparing 144 I noticed that the root partition for grub was
(hd0,1). I realized that that is the xp rescue partition and confirmed
by running ls (hd0,1). I entered th parameters as normal and mounted
that partition to find wubildr and wubildr.mbr dated 10/31/2009. I
renamed these files
I still get the problem, it seems to me that it's a sensitivity issue. The
mouse may move a bit while the primary button is pressed. I work around the
problem by using the context menu to navigate the archive.

I've noticed this in particular when navigating java src archives which
tend to have many folders to drill through. May be a result of clicking
too fast???
When I am navigating through an archive it seems to inadvertently go
into drag and drop mode.
